Brief Description of the Project The purpose of the project activity is to install high efficiency chillers in the IH group hotels at its different locations in India. The project activity primarily aims to reduce the energy consumption of the hotels by installation of highly energy efficient chillers in place of existing less efficient chillers. The chillers are primarily required to meet the air conditioning and space cooling requirements of the hotel buildings. The technology employed in the project activity chillers is based on the principle of ‘vapour compression refrigeration cycle’. These chillers comprise of highly energy efficient compressors based on rotary movement rather than reciprocating movement. This makes the chillers energy efficient.
