Brief Description of the Project The project activity aims at recovery of low pressure off gas generated from the various process units of the refinery, which is presently flared, and utilization of the recovered gas as one of the fuel sources in furnaces/boilers of the refinery. The project activity essentially leads to a reduction in fuel oil consumption, thereby contributing to reduction of equivalent amount of CO2 emissions.

Baseline Methodology Title: Recovery and Utilization of waste gases for heating. Reference: At present no small-scale approved methodology is available in Appendix B of’ Simplified Modalities and Procedures for Small-Scale CDM project activities which can be applied for the project activity’. Hence a new baseline and monitoring methodology and category for the project activity has been proposed.
