Name of the Project 23.5 MW Waste Heat Recovery Based Power Project
Sub-bundle I – 5 MW at Kalunga
Sub-bundle II – 16 MW at Ratnapur

Location of the Project (Village / District / State) Village : Site I: Kalunga, Site II: Ratnapur District: Sundargarh, State:Orissa

Brief Description of the project The WHR based power plant primarily consists of installation of WHR boiler, turbo generator set and other auxiliaries. The exhaust waste gases of the DRI kiln are received at the modified after burning chamber (ABC) for further incineration. After incineration, the waste gases are passed through the Waste Heat Recovery Boiler (WHRB) with steam generating parameters of 67 kg/cm (g) pressure & 4850C temperature. The WHRB transfers the sensible heat energy of the waste gases to generate steam. The steam thus generated is sent to a steam header and subsequently to a high efficiency, extraction – cum condensing type Steam Turbo Generator (STG) set of 5 & 16 MW (5 MW) rated capacity.
