Name of Project 15 MW Wind Power Project in Maharashtra” at Dhulia,
Nandurbar district, Maharashtra

Location of the Project (Village / District / State)
Dhulia, Nandurbar district, Maharashtra.

Brief Description of the project The project activity consists of 12 wind electric generators (WEGs), 25 MW each installed in three phases at various locations within Maharashtra of total installed capacity of 15 MW. The basic machinery that converts wind power to electricity is called a wind turbine. The wind spins blades that are attached to a hub that turns as the blades turn. Together, the blades and hub are called the rotor. The turning rotor spins a generator, producing electricity. There is also a controller that starts and stops the turbine blades. The generator, controller, and other equipments are found inside a covered housing (nacelle) directly behind the turbine blades. Outside, an anemometer measures wind speed and feeds this information to the controller.
