Bulland Cements Plans New unit in Assam.

Bulland Cements is planning to set up a 200 tpd greenfield cement plant in Assam. The project involves setting up a cement plant with facilities for manufacturing 150 tpd of Ordinary Portland Cement and 50 tpd off Pozzolana Portland Cement at Village Bamunigaon in Nagaon district of Assam. Lime stone (272 TPD from N.C. Hills & Meghalaya, clay (34 TPD), coke breeze/coal (50 TPD) from Assam & Meghalaya and Gypsum (8 TPD) from Bhutan & Rajasthan will be used as raw material. Dry process of cement manufacturing with suspension pre-heater Vertical Shaft Kiln (VSK) technology will be used. The project is estimated to cost Rs.49.2 million. As of December 2007, the project has been cleared by ministry of environment and forests.
