India Cements to Expand Capacity

India Cement is planning to take up an expansion programme at its cement plant located in AP. The project involves increasing the capacity of cement plant from the present 4200 tpd to 5000 tpd, clinker capacity from 3,800 tpd to 4,200 tpd and limestone capacity from 1.8 million tpa to 2.0 million tpa at its cement plant at Chilamakur, Yerraguntla in Cudappa district. The project is estimated to cost Rs.314.6 million. As of December 2007, the project has been cleared by ministry of environment and forests.
