Adhunik Corporation is planning to set up an integrated steel plant in WB. The project involves setting up a steel plant with a capacity of 1.1 million tpa along with a 1,000 MW captive power plant and a 1 million cement plant at Raghunathpur Block II in the Purulia district of West Bengal. The project is estimated to cost Rs.72,000 million. As of December 2007, the company has signed an MoU with state government of West Bengal. WBIDC and West Bengal Mineral Development & Trading Corporation would facilitate land, coal and water for the project.
