Tata Steel is planning to develop captive jetty at Haldia in West Bengal

Tata Steel is planning to develop captive jetty at Haldia in West Bengal with an investment of Rs.1000 million. The proposed jetty will primarily handle clean cargo and have the final capacity of two million tpa. It will also include an open back up storage space of 15 acres with a railway siding of 800 metre along with two mobile harbour cranes. Work on the jetty and development of backup facilities is likely to commence by September 2008 and is scheduled for completion by August 2009.
