Jal Power is setting up the 3 x 40 MW Rangit Stage-IV Hydro Electric Power Project
Jal Power is setting up the 3 x 40 MW Rangit Stage-IV Hydro Electric Power Project on the Rangit River in Reshi village of Sikkim. The company has received all its clearances and the civil works will start by November 2007. The project to be operated on Build Own Operate and Transfer basis is to be commissioned by the end of 2011. As of October 2007, the company has signed an agreement with the Government of Sikkim for setting up the project in joint sector with Sikkim Power Development Corporation (SPDC). The project is estimated to cost Rs.7260 million.
