Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Company is planning to take up an expansion programme at its fertilizer plant located in Narmadanagar in Bharuch district of Gujarat. The project involves increasing the capacity of Toluene Di Isocyanate from 1800 tpm to 6970 tpm, Meta Toluene Di Amine from 1450 tpm to 5620 tpm, OrthoToluene Di Amine from 47 tpm to 187 tpm , Hydrochloric Acid from 5400 tpm to 20910 tpm, Dilute Sulphuric Acid from 2021 tpm to 7831 tpm, Weak Nitric Acid from 265 tpm to 1035 tpm and Sodium Hypo Chlorite from 230 tpm to 890 tpm.. The project is estimated to cost Rs.10,700 million. As of September 2007, the project has obtained clearance from ministry of environment and forests.
