Andhra Petrochemicals is planning to take up a modernization programme
Andhra Petrochemicals is planning to take up a modernization programme at its petrochemical complex in Visakhapatnam. The project involves expansion, optimization and maximization of Oxo Alcohol Plant. Total capacity of the unit after expansion will be 84000 TPA (55200 TPA of 2-Ethyl Hexanol, 26000 of Normal Butanol & 2800 TPA of Iso Butanol). The Technology is provided by M/s Davy Process Technology Ltd, London (DPT) and the raw materials like Propylene and Naphtha will be sourced from HPCL refinery. The project is estimated to cost Rs.2,500 million. As of August 2007, the project has been approved by ministry of environment and forests.
