National Highways Authority of India is planning to take-up six laning of four section of the existing four lane National Highways

National Highways Authority of India is planning to take-up six laning of four section of the existing four lane National Highways under National Highways Development Project (NHDP) Phase-V on Design, Build, Finance and Operate (DBFO). The projects include,
* 6 laning of Gurgaon-Kotputli-Jaipur in Haryana/Rajasthan on NH8 with an investment of Rs.15170 million. Length : 225.6 kms.
* 6 laning of Surat-Dahisar in Gujarat/Maharashtra on NH8 with an investment of Rs. 13554.7 million. Length : 239 kms.
* 6 laning of Chilkaluripet-Vijaywada in Andhra Pradesh on NH 5 with an investment of Rs.5403 million. Length : 82.5 kms.
* 6 laning of Panipat-Jalandhar in Haryana/Punjab on NH 1 with an investment of Rs.21980 million. Length : 291 kms.
As of August 2007, the projects have received approval from Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs .
