Kirlosakar Oil Engines which manufactures DG sets is planning to set up an export oriented unit at Kagal in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra..The proposed plant will have a capacity to manufacture 12,000 generating sets per year. The project also involves setting up a vendor park in an area of 60 acres of land. The Rs.5,500 million project is to be funded by long term loans ( Rs.3,500 million ) and internal accruals. The project will be commissioned in 24 months. Meanwhile, the company is exploring the feasibility of setting up a unit to manufacture and supply components and assemblies to Waukesha Engines, US.
