CLP Power Plans 1400 MW Power Project

CLP Power India is in the process of setting up a 1400 MW imported coal based thermal power plant at village Tuna-Vira, District Kutchh, Gujarat. Coal will be unloaded at the planned Tuna Port of KPT and brought to site by captive conveyor of about 12 km of length. Sea water will be used for cooling. Desalination plant is planned for sweet water requirement. As of July 2007, the company is in the process of taking up Environmental Impact Assessment Study for the proposed project.
