Vikas Power to set up 540 MW CPP
Vikas Power promoted by Meenakshi Group is planning to set up a 540 MW ( 4 x 135 MW) coal based thermal power plant near Krishnapatnam in Nellore District, Andhra Pradesh. The project will be implemented in two phases of 2×135 MW each. Imported coal will be used as fuel. It is estimated that 0.86 million TPA of coal will be required for phase-I. As of July 2006, the company is in the process of taking up Environmental Impact Assessment Study for the proposed project.
