Parbati - II Hydel Project - Current Status
National Hydro Electric Power Corp has reported progress on its 4 x 200 MW Parbati - II Hydel project in Himachal Pradesh. The project was initiated in September 2002.
Current Status :
Dam- 85 m high concrete Gravity: Excavation completed. 80010 cum Dam & Inlet structure concreting out of 188609 cum completed.
Head Race Tunnel- 6 m dia 31.52 km long: 23724 m excavation out of 31525 m completed overt lining: Face-6- 1824 m out of 2038m completed.Face-9- 930m out of 1075 m completed
Feeder Tunnels (Jiwa Nalah): 2685m excavation completed out of 4560m.
(Manihar-Pancha) 357m excavation completed out of 2252m.
(Jigrai-Feeder) 266m excavation completed out of 813m.
Surge Shaft- 130 m high, 17m Dia Orifice type: Works under Progress.
Pressure Shafts- 2 Nos. each of dia 3.5 m and length 2150 m and 2133 m including 1546 m & 1506m inclined portion in each shaft: Excavation of inclined portion of both the tunnels completed.
Surface Power House containing 4 Pelton Turbine Generating units of 200 MW each: Excavation completed and 8295 cum sub structure and super conc. completed out of 60000 cum.
Switchyard- Surface 400 KV GIS with 2 out going 400 KV feeders: Works under progress.
Tail Race Channels- 4 nos., 60m long 5 m x 4.5 m each: Works under progress.
The project is estimated to cost Rs. 42199.4 million and the units are expected to be commissioned in January, March, May and July 2011 respectively.
