Tata Chemicals to venture Bio Fuels

Tata Chemicals is planning to diversify in to biofuel production. The project involves setting up a bio-ethanol plant on a pilot basis in Maharashtra with an initial investment of Rs 300-400 million. At later stage, the company will produce bio-diesel and bio ethanol on commerical scale. As of May 2007, the project is still in the conceptual stage.
