	GMDC Plans Thermal Power Plant Gujarat Mineral Development Corp, the state owned mining company is planning to diversify into power generation. The project involves setting up power plants with a total generating capacity of 3,375 MW with an investment of Rs.150,000 million. Of this, 2,750 MW power will be generated by utilising the coal from its Morga block in Chhattisgarh which was allotted to it last year by the ministry of coal. As of May 2007, the project awaits clearance from state government of Chhattisgarh.
