Sri Chamundeswari Sugars plans new unit

Sri Chamundeswari Sugars is planning to set up a sugar unit with a capacity of 4,000 tcd and a 50 klpd distillery unit in Hassan district of Karnataka. The project also involves a 26 MW Cogeneration power project. Avant Garde Engineers & Consultants is the technical consultant for the project. As of May 2007, work on the project is expected shortly and the project will be commissioned in August 2008. The project is estimated to cost Rs.1,500 million.
