Phillips Carbon plans to up carbon black capacity

Phillips Carbon Black is planning to expand carbon black capacity from the present 270,000 tpa to 325,000 tpa. The project involves setting up a greenfield plant at Mundra in with a capacity of 75,000 tpa and increasing the capacity of Kochi plant by 50,000 tpa. The expansion programme is expected to entain an investment of Rs.2,440 million. As of May 2007, the project has been approved by the company board.
