Phillips Carbon plans Captive Power Plants

Phillips Carbon, a manufacturer of carbon black is planning to set up two captive power plants at its units in Kochi and Mundra. The project involves setting up a 12 MW captive power plant at Kochi unit and a 14 MW captive power plant at Mundra with a total investment of Rs.1,060 million. Both the proposed plants will use Off gas from the carbon black units. As of May 2007, the project has been approved by the board and commissioning is scheduled in 2009.
