Reliance to expand Dahanu Power Plant

Reliance Energy is planning increase the capacity of Dahanu Power plant in near Mumbai in Maharashtra from 500 MW to 1,200 MW. The project is estimated to cost Rs.35,000 million. The project will be commissioned within 18 months from zero date. As of April 2007, the company was in the process of getting the required clearances, including environmental clearance, for the expansion project.
