KSEB reports progress on Atirapally HEP
Kerala State Electricity Board has reported progress on its 163 MW Atirapally Hydel Project. The project which was originally conceived in 1998 hit the stumbling block due to environment concerns and has been revived now. The proposed Athirappilly hydel project is the seventh dam, which is to be built across the 145.5-km Chalakudy river. As of April 2007, the pre feasibility study is under way. The project is estimated to cost Rs.6,000 million.
