PSEB plans 1200 MW Talwandi Sabo Power Project
Punjab State Electricity has firmed up its plans to set up the 1,200 MW thermal power project at Talwandi Sabo (Banwala) in Mansa district. A special purpose vehicle in the style of ‘ Talwandi Sabo Power Ltd’ has been floated to execute the project.
In April 2007, the state electricity board has invited ‘Expression of Interest’ bids from indian and international firms for developing the project on Build Own and Operate basis (BOO). The developer will be responsible for establishment, operation and maintenance of a 1200 MW TPP for its life cycle. Project also includes transportation of coal to the power project for which allocation of coal linkage will be made by the Govt. of India.
The EoI applications should reach on or before 6th June 2007.
