Chennai Corporation plans 5 MW RDF based PP

Chennai Corporation is planning to set up a waste product based power plant in the city. The project involves setting up facilities for manufacturing refuse derived fuel (RDF) from municipal solid waste and generate 5 MW power using the RDF at Kodungaiyur land fill site. TIDCO, the nodal agency for the project has invited expression of interest from private developers to set up the project on Build Operate and Transfer basis. The bids should be submitted on or before April 30, 2007.
